The answer

Friday prayer is an obligatory ritual, and abandoning it exposes one to a severe warning, such as Allah sealing their heart. If studying at the university leads to missing Friday prayers, then it is not permissible to enroll in it except out of extreme necessity, such as being forced into it or if it is essential for obtaining a job that provides one's livelihood. In such a case, one should try to be absent on Friday to perform the prayer. If that is not possible, then one is excused. The jurists have stipulated that among the excuses for missing Friday prayer is fear for one's life, property, or livelihood that a person needs.
