How can a wife convince her husband to adhere to the outwardly manifest Sunnahs, especially the growing of the beard? And what is your guidance regarding his regression from his previous religious commitment, his rejection of some Sunnahs like reading the entire Surat Al-Kahf on Friday, and his hesitation to move to a better environment for seeking knowledge? What advice is offered to the couple?

Those who are not scholars must ask specialized, pious scholars. When there are two differing answers, one should not choose whichever one pleases, but rather prioritize based on the knowledge and piety of the Mufti (definition). Shaving the beard is forbidden according to the majority of scholars, and shortening it by taking what exceeds a fistful is permissible according to most scholars. Hadiths have been reported regarding the virtue of reciting the entire Surah (definition) Al-Kahf on Friday, not just ten verses from it. Among them is the hadith (definition): "Whoever recites Surah Al-Kahf on the day of Jumu'ah, a light will shine for him between the two Fridays." Faith increases and decreases; it increases with obedience and decreases with disobedience.
