The question

How can one get rid of despair and return to obedience after having strayed from memorizing the Quran and committing sins? And what is the way to sincere repentance and to make up for missed prayers and fasting, while feeling distressed by Allah's displeasure and harboring resentment towards others?

The answer

A Muslim should have a good opinion of Allah, repent from sins, not despair of Allah's mercy, strive to be steadfast and return to obedience, associate with the righteous, purify the heart from hatred and envy, and repel evil thoughts and whispers.

As for sins committed out of ignorance, there is usually no sin in them. It is permissible to seek help from psychiatrists if there is a need.
