The answer

One must take the necessary measures to wake up for Fajr prayer. Whoever takes these measures but is overcome by sleep is excused. The time for Fajr prayer extends until sunrise. Whoever prays it before sunrise has fulfilled their obligation. Whoever intentionally delays it until after sunrise has committed a major sin. However, for whoever forgets it or sleeps through it, its time is when they remember it or wake up. One must strive to wake up for Fajr prayer, because persistent abandonment of it indicates negligence, and Allah has warned those who are sluggish in performing it. Severe laziness and abundant sins may be a reason for falling short in prayer, thus one must promptly initiate sincere repentance. Fajr prayer performed after sunrise is considered a make-up (qada’) prayer and is valid, though it necessitates repentance for the negligence.
