Is the Eid prayer and its missed takbeers included in the hadith: "Whoever prays to Allah for forty days, catching the first takbeer, will have two immunities written for him: immunity from Hellfire and immunity from hypocrisy"? And what about someone who missed the seven takbeers in the Eid prayer?

The aforementioned Hadith (definition) varies in whether it is مرفوع (traced back to the Prophet) or موقوف (stopped at a Companion), and it is among the Hadiths of virtues, in which scholars are lenient. We have not found any commentary from the شرح (explainers/commentators of Hadith) regarding the inclusion of Eid prayer in this Hadith. What appears evident is that it is specific to obligatory prayers. Eid prayer is a Sunnah (definition) according to the preponderant opinion, and there is no sin upon one who misses it. It is hoped that whoever misses the opening Takbir (Takbirat al-Ihram (definition)) in it will still achieve the reward promised in the Hadith, especially if it was due to an excuse.
