Should one repeat the supplication if it was made while absent-minded?

Among the etiquettes of supplication (du'a) and causes for its acceptance are: presence of heart, certainty of being answered, sincerity in seeking from Allah, the supplicant being aware of the meaning of their supplication, and the servant persisting earnestly in their supplication to their Lord, repeating it and showing humility. As for the hadith (definition), "Supplicate to Allah while you are certain of being answered, and know that Allah does not answer a supplication from a heedless, inattentive heart," its chain of narration revolves around Salih al-Murri, and it is weak in hadith. Among the best times for supplication, which gather the heart upon its Lord, are the last third of the night and after the obligatory prayers, for indeed, our Lord, the Blessed and Exalted, descends every night to the lowest heaven when the last third of the night remains.
