What is the ruling on a missed prayer, and how is it to be made up?

It is not permissible to delay the prayer until its time has passed. Whoever does so without a legitimate excuse has committed a grave sin, and he must hasten to sincere repentance, frequent seeking of forgiveness, and refrain from returning to that.
