Abandoning prayer is one of the gravest destructive sins and major transgressions. Indeed, it is worse than adultery, theft, drinking alcohol, and taking a life. One must hasten to perform prayers immediately upon the call to prayer, and strive against the self to overcome the feeling of burden caused by Satan. One must make up missed prayers, frequently supplicate for steadfastness upon guidance, and be diligent in keeping the company of righteous women.
