Which is more deserving for clearing one's conscience: making up prayers missed before puberty, or prayers performed incorrectly after becoming committed to prayer? And what are reliable sources for learning the jurisprudence of prayer and ablution?

We ask Allah to accept your repentance and grant you steadfastness. Prayer is a great pillar and the first thing a servant will be held accountable for. You must repent and be diligent in prayer, and make up all missed prayers from the time you reached puberty, according to the majority of scholars. You must also make up prayers that were performed incorrectly due to ignorance. However, Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah was of the opinion that there is no obligation to repeat them. The order of making up missed prayers is a matter of scholarly disagreement, but it is preferable to make up the abandoned prayers first. If you do not follow the order, your prayers are still valid.
