The answer

The prostration of forgetfulness consists of two prostrations that a worshipper performs if they shorten or lengthen their prayer. As for increasing the glorification (tasbih) in bowing (ruku') and prostration () beyond three times, it is commendable (mustahabb), and the prostration of forgetfulness is not required for doing so, as it is a commendable act. Nor is it required for omitting it, as omitting it does not necessitate rectification through the prostration of forgetfulness. The minimum for complete glorification is three times, and increasing it is better and more perfect.
