The answer

The Salat al- (Prayer of Need) is prescribed, and it is performed by a Muslim making wudu thoroughly, then praying two rak'ahs. After that, he should praise Allah and send salutations upon the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. Then he should recite the supplication mentioned in the : "There is no god but Allah, the Forbearing, the Most Generous. Glory be to Allah, the Lord of the Magnificent Throne. All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. I ask You for that which necessitates Your mercy and the resolve for Your forgiveness, and the gain from every righteousness, and safety from every sin. Do not leave any sin for me but that You forgive it, nor any worry but that You relieve it, nor any need that is pleasing to You but that You fulfill it, O Most Merciful of the merciful." As for the method mentioned in the question, it is not prescribed due to lack of authentic narration, and the book "Khazanat al-Asrar" is not reliable.
