What is the ruling on listening to Islamic songs (anashid) during prayer or the Adhan, and what is the fate of one who dies while listening to them?

Listening to anasheed (Islamic vocal music/chants) outside of prayer times and the adhan (definition) (call to prayer) is permissible under certain conditions. However, it is not permissible during prayer, because the worshiper is required to be humble and mindful of Allah's greatness, and it is impossible to combine humility of the heart with listening to anything else. Indeed, it has been forbidden to raise one's voice while reciting the Quran to avoid disturbing those praying, so it is even more important not to listen to anything other than the Quran. As for listening to anasheed during the adhan, it is not appropriate, as one is required to follow the muezzin and ponder the meanings of the adhan. The fate of someone who dies while listening to anasheed cannot be definitively determined; Allah may forgive them out of His grace, or punish them for what they committed, and then their ultimate destination will be Paradise if there was no shirk (definition) (polytheism).
