The answer

The is an obligation upon the Muslim woman, and removing it is forbidden. Therefore, the questioner should supplicate extensively, asking Allah to remove her distress and open the hearts of the examiners, seeking out times when supplications are answered. She should also perform Istikhara (prayer for guidance) before going to the discussion and rely on Allah, for losing an academic degree is easier than losing one's religion and modesty. This world is fleeting, and what is with Allah is better and more enduring. If she is prevented from the discussion because of her hijab, Allah will compensate her with something better, for this world is but a deceptive enjoyment. Obedience to parents is not permissible if they command disobedience to Allah.
