Is it permissible for a man with constant ritual impurity ( سلس ) to lead his wife in obligatory prayers (Fard) if there is no mosque nearby, and in supererogatory prayers (Nawafil) such as Qiyam al-Layl?
Source: FtawySummary from Ftawy's records · added here Sep 2, 2026
The ruling on a person afflicted with urinary incontinence leading others in prayer is based on the opinions of jurists. The preferred and more cautious approach is that such a person should not lead prayers, neither obligatory nor supererogatory, in order to avoid disagreement, unless the congregant is also afflicted with incontinence. If he does lead the prayer, the general principle is that whoever's prayer is valid for himself, his prayer is valid for others.
