What is the ruling on a father not praying and his frequent need to use the restroom as an excuse, and what is the ruling on his wife staying with him in this situation, and what is the ruling on his forbidding his wife from voluntary fasting without a reason?

Prayer is of great importance, as it is the connection between the servant and his Lord, and it is the second pillar of Islam. A wife must seek her husband's permission for supererogatory fasting if he is present, and she is not permitted to fast without his permission unless it is a non-recurring fast such as 'Arafah and 'Ashura', but he can also prevent her from those. If she fasts without his permission, her fast is valid, though it is impermissible.
