Does the workplace take the same ruling as the home, such that its owner leads the people in prayer instead of the more knowledgeable, by analogy with the Hadith: "A man should not lead another man in prayer in his place of authority, nor should he sit in his home on his place of honor except with his permission"?

The person in authority has precedence in leading the prayer over others, based on the hadith (definition): "No man should lead another in prayer in his place of authority." "Place of authority" includes: the ruler, the judge, the regular imam, the householder, and the manager of a company or school. The person in authority is given precedence if he fulfills the conditions for the validity of the prayer, even if someone else is more knowledgeable in jurisprudence or better in recitation. It is sunnah (definition) for the householder to permit someone better than him to lead.
