How sound is the Hadith: “Pray on the earth and what it brings forth, of what is neither eaten nor worn”?

The aforementioned hadith (definition) has not been reported with this wording. What is stated in "Al-Jami' Al-Kabeer by Al-Suyuti" regarding the virtues of the rosary (subhah) and prostrating on the ground was narrated by Al-Daylami from Ali, attributed to the Prophet (marfu'), and Al-Albani described it as "fabricated" (mawdu'). It is authentically established in Al-Bukhari and Muslim that the earth was made a place of prayer (masjid) and a means of purification (tahur) for Muslims, and that a Muslim prays wherever the time for prayer overtakes him, and it is permissible to pray on all parts of the earth and whatever is connected to it.
