Is it permissible for a menstruating woman to enter the mosque to stay in a designated lounge for female students inside it, given that the mosque is adjacent to the university?
If the resting area is attached to the mosque but is not designated for prayer, a menstruating woman may sit in it and pass through it to the mosque. This is because the prohibition applies only to places designated for prayer. Furthermore, Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to enter upon one of us while she was menstruating, and he would place his head in her lap and recite the Quran while she was menstruating. Then one of us would take her head covering and place it in the mosque." However, if the resting area is designated for prayer, a menstruating woman is not permitted to sit or stay in it.
