Is it permissible for a menstruating woman to enter the mosque to listen to religious lessons and sit in a passageway inside the women’s prayer area, knowing that there is a prohibition against a menstruating woman entering the mosque, and that there is no other means to listen to the lessons in this country?

It is forbidden for a menstruating woman, a woman in postpartum bleeding, or a person in a state of ritual impurity (junub) to stay in the mosque, even for listening to lessons of knowledge, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Indeed, I do not permit the mosque for a menstruating woman or a person in a state of ritual impurity."

However, it is permissible for a menstruating woman to pass through the mosque for a temporary need without staying therein.

As for a place attached to the mosque, such as a study room or a corridor, there is no harm in sitting there, because the prohibition is specific to the place designated for prayer.
