Is it permissible to remove and demolish permanent wooden (caravan) mosques, established on the ground, in which prayers are performed, without building an alternative mosque, for the purpose of preserving the urban appearance of the country?

A mosque is defined by its land being dedicated as an endowment (waqf) for a mosque, whether a structure has been built on it or not. A musalla (prayer room), on the other hand, is a place built for prayer without its land being endowed. If the land on which the caravans (karafānāt) are located has been endowed, they may not be removed except for rebuilding purposes. However, if the land has not been endowed, they may be removed once they are no longer needed and a substitute mosque is available. Mosques should not be removed merely for the sake of preserving urban appearance.
