The answer

It has been previously explained that invoking blessings upon the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, in the first is not a pillar, nor an obligation, nor even recommended according to many scholars, and this is the most preponderant opinion. However, performing it does not invalidate the prayer, even if done intentionally, because it is a prescribed remembrance performed in an improper place. Therefore, it is not recommended for the questioner to perform it, and if he begins to recite it and the imam stands, he should cut off his recitation and follow the imam.
