What is the ruling on combining the Maghrib and Isha prayers in Ramadan?

Initiating prayer and catching the opening takbir are always required, especially during Ramadan (definition). If the question is about delaying Maghrib prayer in Ramadan due to being busy with iftar (definition), then to reconcile the two matters, it is better for the Imam not to rush the Maghrib prayer, as its time extends until the disappearance of twilight. It is permissible to combine it with the 'Isha' prayer as a "form-only" (ṣūrī) combination according to those who permit it. However, doing so consistently contradicts the guidance of the Prophet (peace be upon him), and combining two prayers is not permissible except in specific cases such as travel and rain.
