Are the acts of worship of a Muslim who apostatized and repented valid if he did not perform the ghusl of apostasy but only performed ghusl for janabah?

According to the Hanbalis, an apostate must perform ghusl (definition) (ritual bath) upon returning to Islam. The Malikis agree if the apostate experienced a state of major ritual impurity (janabah (definition)) during their apostasy. Their prayers would be invalid before performing ghusl because they performed them while in a state of janabah. If they perform ghusl for janabah, it suffices for the ghusl of Islam according to the Hanbalis. As for the Malikis, it suffices if they intend both the ghusl of Islam and the ghusl for janabah. However, marriage and fasting are valid even without performing ghusl.
