Does a Vaseline-like ointment, which transfers by touch, affect the validity of ablution, and does touching adhesive tape affect ablution?

If the ointment is applied to a limb and prevents water from reaching the skin, it must be removed before performing ablution (wudu) or the obligatory ritual bath (ghusl (definition)). It can be used outside of prayer times. As for the transfer of ointment from one limb to another by touch, this is known through experience, and it appears the questioner is afflicted with waswasah (obsessive whispering/doubts).
