How can one distinguish between semen (mani), which necessitates ghusl, and wadī, in the event that thick, viscous fluid is discharged frequently?

Wadi is a thick, white fluid that exits after urination. Its ruling is the same as that of urine in every respect. It differs from maniy (sperm/ejaculate) and madhiy (pre-ejaculate) in their nature and rulings. Maniy is a thick fluid with a distinct odor that exits in gushes when sexual desire intensifies. It is pure and necessitates ghusl (definition) (ritual bath). As for madhiy, it is a thin fluid with no odor that exits without gushing when sexual desire wanes. Its impurity is lighter; it suffices to sprinkle water on it and wash the penis and testicles. Both of them (wadi and madhiy) necessitate wudu' (ablution).
