Is it obligatory to perform ablution (wudu') and a ritual bath (ghusl) when water is discharged involuntarily with coughing during prayer in the Haram, and is it permissible to place a towel and complete the prayer?

If the fluid discharged from a woman is vaginal secretions (rutubat al-farj), it is pure (tahir) but invalidates ablution (wudu') according to the majority of scholars. However, if it is urine (bawl), it is impure (najis), and the body and clothes must be purified, and ablution performed. Ghusl (definition) (ritual bath) is only obligatory upon the discharge of semen with desire. If the discharge of fluid is so frequent that it prevents purity and prayer within the prescribed time, the woman is considered to have سلس (urinary incontinence or constant discharge), and she should perform ablution after the entry of the prayer time and pray. Her ablution becomes invalid upon the exit of that prayer time. However, if there is sufficient time for purity and prayer, she is not considered to have سلس, and she must perform ablution and pray within that time. Placing a first pad is a precaution against soiling the Haram (definition) floor, and it is advised to consult a female doctor.
