Is it permissible for a menstruating woman to perform ablution (wudu') before sleeping?

A menstruating woman's ghusl (definition) (ritual bath) for janabah (definition) (major ritual impurity) is valid and removes the state of janabah, but it does not remove the state of menstruation. As for a menstruating woman performing wudu (ablution) before sleep, there is no evidence for this, and it is not correct to analogize her situation to that of someone in a state of janabah in this regard, due to the difference between the two types of impurity. The fundamental principle concerning acts of worship is that they are based on divine instruction (tawqif), and the impurity of menstruation is more severe than the impurity of janabah, and it only ceases with the cessation of blood flow.
