Is it permissible to forgo washing a deceased person who died of coronavirus for fear of spreading the virus? And is it sufficient to wash them after wrapping them in plastic sheets, or is tayammum (dry ablution) sufficient instead of ghusl (ritual washing)? And is it a condition that the earth touches their body, or is tayammum over the plastic sheets sufficient?

A Muslim who dies from Coronavirus must be given a ritual bath (ghusl (definition)) like any other deceased Muslim, while taking the necessary precautions. If it is not possible to give him a bath due to certain harm to the washer, and it is not possible to pour water over him from a distance, then tayammum (definition) (wiping his face and hands with dust) should be performed instead of ghusl. If tayammum is also not possible, then both ghusl and tayammum are waived, and the funeral prayer is performed over him. Pouring water over the plastic wrapping that surrounds the deceased is not considered ghusl, and wiping it is not considered tayammum.
