Is it permissible to perform ghusl by way of tayammum for social occasions to avoid washing one's hair?

Tayammum (definition) (dry ablution) is only permissible when water is unavailable or when one is unable to use it. Performing tayammum for the sake of adornment is not a valid excuse to permit it. Rather, one must perform ghusl (definition) (ritual bath) with water when there is a cause necessitating ghusl and the ability to use water. Prayer is not valid with tayammum when one is able to use water. No scholar has permitted abandoning the washing of the head for the sake of adornment, except for what Maliki jurists stated, that a bride may limit herself to wiping her head, but this is a weak opinion.
