Is the hadith narrated by Umm Sad, in which the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "(A) mudd suffices for wudu' and a sa for ghusl. There will come people who deem that insufficient, and those are in opposition to my Sunnah. And he who adheres to my Sunnah will be in the Garden of Paradise, the dwelling place of the people of Paradise," authentic, and who narrated it?

The circulating hadith (definition) about the sufficiency of a mudd for ablution and a sa' for ghusl (definition), along with the mention of people who consider this insufficient, is a very weak hadith due to the weakness of its narrator, Muhammad ibn Zadhan. None of the authors of the relied-upon books narrated it. The authentic hadiths that prohibit extravagance in purification and supplication are sufficient to render this hadith unnecessary.
