Should one who has committed minor shirk repeat the Shahadatayn (the two testimonies of faith) and perform ghusl (ritual bathing)?

Minor Shirk (definition) does not expel its perpetrator from the fold of Islam, nor does it necessitate the re-utterance of the Shahadatain (Two Testimonies of Faith) or ghusl (definition) (ritual bath), unlike major Shirk. Minor Shirk is ostentation (riya') in one's actions, as explained by the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. It diminishes the reward of the action and may nullify it if it increases and overwhelms, and it is a greater sin than the major sins. Whoever is accustomed to swearing by other than Allah should train his tongue to say: "There is no god but Allah" if he swears by it. Minor Shirk does not nullify all good deeds; rather, it only nullifies the specific deed it accompanied, unlike major Shirk, which nullifies all deeds.
