Claims of demonic possession (mass) or sorcery (sihr) are often delusions, psychological or organic illnesses, or lies to achieve worldly aims, though they can be real. If what the questioner is experiencing is real, then it is a case of demonic possession or sorcery of infatuation (sihr al-ishq). To treat this, she must commit to reciting Ayat al-Kursi and the last two verses of Surat al-Baqarah before sleeping, and to supplicating with the reported supplication, "In the Name of Allah, with Whose Name nothing on earth or in the heavens can cause harm..." three times in the morning and evening. She should also perfume her body with musk, especially between the navel and the knee, and remain steadfast in Allah's commands, abstaining from forbidden acts. A full ritual bath () is required if ejaculation occurs.
