The answer

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, commanded the one who cast the evil eye to perform (ritual bath) for the one afflicted by it. It is authentically reported that he said to the man who afflicted Sahl ibn Hunaif with the evil eye: "Perform ablution for him." The method is that the one who cast the evil eye rinses his mouth into a vessel, then spits into it, and washes his face, his palms, his knees, and the inside of his lower garment into the vessel. Then, this water is poured all at once from behind onto the head of the afflicted person. This is what has been authentically reported from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and it suffices over other methods unless proven otherwise.
