Do shoes become pure when immersed all at once in bathtub water, knowing that they have been defiled by the urine of a child suffering from a mental disorder? And what is the correct way to wash them if this method is not correct?
Source: FtawySummary from Ftawy's records · added here Sep 2, 2026
The majority of scholars hold that if water is less than two qullas and becomes impure, it itself becomes impure. Based on this, if a bathtub can hold two qullas or more, then impure sandals become pure, and the water remains pure. However, if it holds less than two qullas, the water becomes impure, and the sandals do not become pure, according to the majority, even if the water's color, taste, or smell does not change. This contradicts the view of the Malikis. The measure of two qullas is approximately 160.5 liters.
