How can a sofa stained with menstrual blood be purified? Does dry impurity transfer from it to guests? Is it necessary to re-perform the ritual bath (ghusl) for menstruation if clothes stained with menstrual blood are touched after purification, or is it sufficient to wash only the impure spot? And if clothes from previous cycles are worn, is a specific intention required when performing ghusl, one that includes purification from both major and minor ritual impurity for every hair on the body? What should be done when a part of the hand or clothes becomes impure with urine; should only the impure part be washed or the entire thing?

Blood is impure, but a small amount is excused. If blood stains a garment, it is not necessary to purify it except for prayer. It is removed by scraping and rubbing, then washing with water. The presence of a slight trace does not cause harm. Impurity does not transfer between two dry bodies. It is not necessary to repeat the (ritual bath) from menstruation merely by wearing a garment that has been stained with menstrual blood; rather, only the contaminated part of the garment or body needs to be purified.
