The question

Is the colored trace of urine on a bedsheet after being washed in an automatic washing machine excusable, and is the sheet considered pure? And is it necessary to try to remove this color manually when it appears on any other piece of clothing, or is it considered excusable from the beginning and the clothes are pure?

The answer

The persistence of the color of an impurity does not cause harm if its removal is difficult. This is the view of the majority of jurists. If the removal of the color is difficult and causes hardship, or if there is fear of damaging the garment, the area becomes pure by washing, and the persistence of the color does not cause harm, based on the of Khawlah bint Yasar concerning the washing of menstrual blood.

Therefore, the mentioned bedsheet is purified by washing if the removal of the urine color is difficult, knowing that the color of urine is not usually difficult to remove. Any impurity whose trace, whether color or smell, is difficult to remove, that trace is excused. However, if it is not difficult, then it must be removed.
