The answer

Saliva expelled from the mouth, if not mixed with blood, is pure. However, if it is mixed with blood, it becomes impure, but a small amount is excused due to the difficulty of guarding against it. One must spit out blood when its taste is perceived in the mouth, and it is not permissible to swallow it.
