What should I do if I work in a company where employees use gloves made of pigskin, knowing that touching a pig necessitates washing the hands seven times, one of them with earth?
Source: FtawySummary from Ftawy's records · added here Sep 2, 2026
Pig skin is impure (najis) and does not become pure through tanning. Touching dry impurity does not render the body impure, whereas touching it with moisture present necessitates washing the hand once, not seven times with dust as is the case with the impurity of a dog; this is the more probable opinion. It is advisable to avoid wearing gloves made of pig skin unless out of necessity, while taking precautions against defiling the body and clothes, and promptly washing away any impurity when it occurs.
