Scholars differ concerning the impurity of dog saliva, and the preponderant opinion is that it is impure. Therefore, whoever is afflicted by dog saliva must wash it seven times, one of which is with earth. There is no difference in this regard between a guard dog and others. If the location of the impurity on the garment is unknown, the entire garment must be washed in the manner mentioned.
