The answer

If a person is able to perform (ritual bath) without harm, it is obligatory upon him. Otherwise, he should wipe over the site of the operation and wash the rest of the body, then perform (dry ablution). If a trustworthy doctor informs him that ghusl would be harmful to him, then he should suffice with tayammum for the duration of the harm.
