Is it permissible to remove major ritual impurity (janabah) with tayammum?

If a valid excuse for performing tayammum (definition) is found, such as the absence of water or the inability to use it due to illness, then tayammum takes the place of wudu and ghusl (definition). Thus, a person in a state of janabah (definition) performs tayammum and prays. Then, when water becomes available, ghusl becomes obligatory. This is indicated by the Qur'an and the Sunnah (definition). Allah has commanded us with minor purification (wudu) and major purification (ghusl), and with tayammum as a substitute for each when water is absent or due to illness. The Companions performed tayammum and prayed, then performed ghusl when water became available. Therefore, tayammum is a purificant and sufficient substitute for water, but when water is available, its use becomes obligatory. It is not permissible to delay the prayer beyond its prescribed time due to the absence of water or the inability to use it.
