The Gist of the : Allah does not burden a soul beyond its capacity. If a Muslim is unable to perform ablution (wudu') or dry ablution () due to incapacity, it is permissible for him to pray without purification by water or earth. This is based on the of Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) regarding the Companions' prayer without wudu' due due to the absence of water before the revelation of the Tayammum verse. This is the opinion of the majority of jurists.
