The answer

It has been authentically reported from the Prophet (peace be upon him) that if he was in a state of ritual impurity (junub) and wished to eat, he would perform ablution (wudu') as he would for prayer. If a person in a state of ritual impurity performs ablution for eating, and then their ablution becomes invalidated during the meal, it is not for them to repeat it, because the purpose of ablution in this case is for alleviation or vigor.
