The types of discharges and the ruling for each have been previously explained. If you are uncertain whether what exits is madhy (pre-seminal fluid) or vaginal discharge, you may choose and assign to it the ruling you wish. There is no harm in considering what you see as normal vaginal discharge, so you are not obligated to perform istinja (definition)' (washing of private parts) from it, as it is pure. However, performing ablution (wudu') from it is obligatory according to the general consensus of scholars, unless it is continuously flowing, in which case it is treated like سلس (incontinence). A Muslim is not held accountable for thoughts. Istinja' is not necessary for these discharges unless there is certainty of their impurity and that they are madhy.
