The answer

It has been previously clarified that it is obligatory to respect the names of Allah and the Prophets. It is permissible to tear them into small pieces such that no complete, meaningful name remains, as this is akin to burning them. It is not obligatory to track the papers after tearing them, to avoid difficulty and hardship. Burning these shredded papers is preferable to throwing them in the wastebasket, as it shows greater respect and is further removed from desecration.
