In Quranic teaching circles for aspiring female teachers, does strictness in applying Tajwid rules and excessive focus on the points of articulation (makharij al-huruf) and nasalizations (ghunnat) divert attention from the meaning of the verses and cause one to lose appreciation for their beauty?

The Quran was revealed in tartīl (rhythmic recitation), and Allah commanded His Prophet and the Ummah to recite it in tartīl. Scholars have interpreted tartīl as tajwīd, meaning: perfecting the pronunciation of letters and knowing where to pause. Applying the rules of tajwīd helps in contemplating the meanings. One must avoid blameworthy affectation (takalluf), which is pretense and artificiality. The most deserving people to know the Quran, its sciences, and to apply the rules of tajwīd are the Quran teachers, due to their great mission in educating generations.
