It is permissible to recite Surat al-Kahf on Friday through "managed recitation," where each person recites a portion of it, and this is the view of the majority of scholars. However, two matters must be noted: First, one should not regularly adhere to this method lest it be perceived as a distinct or obligatory , thereby becoming akin to an innovation (bid'ah). Second, this method does not achieve the merit mentioned for one who recites the entire , because the merit is specific to one who recites it all.
