Is it permissible to intentionally recite the Madd Mutassil with two or four counts in the recitation of Warsh from Nafi' via the way of Al-Azraq, knowing that the Madd Mutassil is obligatorily recited with six counts in this recitation?
For Warsh, the madd muttasil (connected madd) is extended by six harakat (vowel counts) from the way of Al-Azraq, and by four harakat from the way of Al-Asbahani. There is no madd muttasil of two harakat for any reciter; if it occurs, it is a hidden mistake (laḥn khafī) which does not incur sin, but it is a deviation from the recommended tajwid. Combining narrations and recitations, such as reciting for Warsh from the way of Al-Azraq with the madd muttasil extended by four harakat, is permissible. The measures of the mudūd (extensions) vary depending on the style of recitation; the madd is shortened in hadr (fast recitation) compared to taḥqīq (slow, deliberate recitation).
