What is the ruling on consistently reciting the end of Surat Al-Baqarah in the fifth tasleem of Tarawih prayer?

The Imam's consistent recitation of the concluding verses of Surat Al-Baqarah during Tarawih, or the Shaf' and Witr prayers—if he believes it to be a Sunnah (definition)—is a mistake. What is authentically established from the Prophet, peace be upon him, is that he used to recite "Sabbih Isma Rabbika Al-A'la" (Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High), "Qul Ya Ayyuha Al-Kafirun" (Say, "O disbelievers"), and "Qul Huwa Allahu Ahad" (Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One") in Witr. There is no harm in reciting other parts of the Qur'an. However, persistent recitation of a specific passage to the exclusion of others may fall under blameworthy innovation (bid'ah), because it singles out a prayer with a specific recitation that the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, did not single out.
