What is the ruling on one who makes a mistake in pronouncing the second tasleem and then repeats it? Is prostration of forgetfulness (sujood al-sahw) required if one makes a mistake in the first tasleem and repeats it, knowing that the imam does not perform sujood al-sahw if he makes a mistake in Al-Fatiha? And what is required of me if I make a mistake in pronunciation while being a follower (ma'mum)? What must I do if I make a mistake in pronouncing the pillars or obligatory parts of the prayer, whether I am praying alone or as a follower?

If you are afflicted by waswasah (whispers/obsessive thoughts), ignore them and continue with your prayer, paying no attention to them, and do not perform the prostration of forgetfulness (sujud (definition) al-sahw). A ma'mum (congregant) does not perform sujud al-sahw except by following his imam. However, it is permissible for a ma'mum to perform sujud al-sahw if he makes a mistake in reciting Al-Fatihah or in making the taslim (definition) (salutation) after the imam's salam, provided he is not afflicted by waswasah. If the linguistic error (lahn) distorts the meaning and intentionally invalidates the prayer, then he should perform sujud al-sahw and then repeat the correct recitation. As for one afflicted by waswasah, he should not entertain his obsessive thoughts.
